Young Women's Camp Aug 20-24

This was my first year as Stake Young Women's Camp Director.  Our theme for this year was "Oh, The Places You'll Go!"  Although a huge endeavor, with awesome counselors and secretary things ran as smoothy as they could.  I enjoyed late night giggling, devotionals and scripture study with the YCLs, the amazing food, getting to know and love our stake's young women, and feeling close to the spirit.

My fibromyalgia was a challenge, keeping me exhausted and achy.  The camp had a golf cart for my to drive around in.  This saved my body so much.  Thankfully the only day I was down and out was the last day until 1pm.  Saturday I was able to lay low and recover.

Here are a few snap shots from my phone.  Erica Lee made a great slideshow that I'll hopefully post later.

My bed and sanctuary.  On the bed is Alyssa's bear Hearts.  She asked me to bring it with me to remember her.

Kaitlyn gave me her tiara to wear while at camp.  She wanted me to wear it everyday.  Little does she know it was only for a few hours.  Shhhh

Sharon Denning (my secretary) and Amy Mottinger (one of my counselors) prank two YCLs.  They are putting horseradish in their toothpaste after the same two YCLs gave them clam juice in place of lemonade at lunch.  Laughing this hard is not good when you are as old as we are.  I think we all almost peed our pants.  LOL
Ice cream making class.  It was so good you would have thought it was store bought. ;)
The Golf Cart
These two young women kept me laughing all camp and after when I discovered these photos on my phone after I got home.  Thanks Riley & Jessie!

Sunset Flag Ceremonies
At the Water Carnival.  I thought I was in the clear but should have known better.  The young women and leaders got me real good.  Once I was wet I had no problem getting others!  By the end I was so soaked my shoes were wet the rest of camp.  Good thing I packed an extra pair.  Watch out next year, I am coming prepared!
The last night of camp our cabin was pranked.  The pranksters used fishing line to hang candy from the rafters.  Now that's what I call good fun.  Next year I'll have a few of my own up my sleeve like this one.

I'd love to hear your feedback and comments. I'd also love and suggestions to help me perfect my skills as I develop them. Have a question? I'll try to answer it for you right away.

The only think I ask is that negativity not be posted. You know that old saying your mother probably taught you? "If you don't have something nice to say, then don't say anything at all!"
